The letter, sent from Northwick Lodge, Harrow on the Hill, talks about Jones's health over the past year and congratulates Wilcockson on getting his book accepted by Macmillan [possibly 'Selections from Piers Plowman', edited with an introduction and notes by Colin Wilcockson, 1965]. Jones wishes Wilcockson was with him to discuss language and notes he is trying to learn a little more Welsh and Latin. Jones also talks of 'The Dream of the Rood' poem he had recently heard on the radio. Later...

He also mentions Westmorland [John Fane, 10th Earl of Westmorland] eloping with Miss Child [Sarah Anne Child] and the astonishment caused.
